This is a comprehensive system to eliminate the weak links in the W5M33 series of gearbox.
It includes wider, stronger 3rd-4th gears; better synchros; a better centre diff, stronger selector forks, and a revised billet bearing housing, just to name a few of its features.

Are you tired of chasing hard-to-find, and increasingly expensive spare parts for your W5M33 gearbox after blowing another one to pieces? Do you dream of being able to do a full dyno tune in 4th gear without nuking your box? Or perhaps a high RPM shift from 3-4 without crunching and blowing the gear at the drag strip? Are you looking for a gear set that doesn’t whine and clunk like a motorsport transmission, but is capable of holding the power and torque that modern tuning technology can produce?
We have a solution to the problem of weak gears, an unreliable centre diff, noisy and harsh operation, and poor shifting in the AWD gearbox that is found in popular models such as the Mitsubishi Galant VR4, Lancer GSR, GTO, Eclipse and the Lancer Evolution 1, 2 and 3; as well as USDM models such as the DSM Plymouth Laser and Eagle Talon.
We call our solution for the W5M33 the Neat SportSync 3-4 set. It is a comprehensive, universal drop-in solution that comes with a carefully designed set of high quality parts that systematically eliminate the weakest links in this otherwise robust gearbox.
The Neat SportSync 3-4 set includes the following improvements:
– fully revised 3rd and 4th gears that are MUCH wider and stronger than the standard gears
– custom moly lined double synchroniser rings for 3rd and 4th gear
– revised 4-spider centre differential including strengthened bevel gears and cross pin
– billet mid housing with revised intermediate shaft bearing for a more rigid assembly
– billet shift fork and 3-4 shift rail, and revised 3-4 hub and selector sleeve
– removable dog rings on 3rd and 4th gears
– splined gears on the intermediate shaft and centre diff, enabling individual serviceability
– reduced helix angle on the 3rd and 4th gears, and centre diff, to lower thrust loading
– gears made from 9310 aerospace case-hardened steel, and profile ground for optimal mesh
– a comprehensive step-by-step installation PDF manual and support video.
The pre-production sale process will ensure that we can offer the absolute best product at the best available price. There will be a 9 month wait before delivery, but the wait will be worth it – the ETA is November 2024. The extended lead time is to permit a process of prototyping and test fitment before full production, to ensure any production teething issues are addressed before delivering the sets to you. Our first priority is delivering a trouble-free kit that exceeds expectations of quality at a reasonable price.

What are the ratios?
24/28 3rd – A primary ratio of 1.16:1 and final ratio of 1.50:1
28/24 4th – A primary ratio of 0.86:1 and a final ratio of 1.11:1
28/36 centre diff drop ratio, giving a drop ratio of 1.29:1
A note on refunds:
We are using customers’ payments to fund the initial design, tooling, prototyping, testing and production processes. This is the only feasible way for us to get a project like this off the ground. Once you pay, you will not be able to change your mind and request a refund, and you will be committing to the process of production. We will do everything within our power and resources to deliver a product of exceptional quality, on time. If for any reason production of this set cannot proceed – for example, the minimum number of commitments required are not met – you will be entitled to a refund in full. We will of course contact you directly if this scenario arises.
A note on production delays:
We will do everything within our power and resources to deliver a product of exceptional quality on time. This is a complex project with multiple stages – prototyping, testing, and main production. Some delays will likely occur but usual ones have been factored into the timeline. If any significant delays occur during production that will impact on the forecast delivery date, this will be clearly communicated via email as soon as it is known to us.
