The shims in this kit are made of tool steel and stainless steel, and the kit comes with a comprehensive range of shims in order to correctly adjust backlash, pinion height and bearing preload on both the carrier and pinion. This kit is required when installing LSDs or replacing the crown wheel and pinion, or associated bearings. Kit comprises of 29 shims in total.

Important note: the shims included in this kit for the side cover bearing on the LSD are switched to UNDER the tapered bearing. The original factory grooved 5mm shim in the side cover must remain installed, and these shims are added when installing a Wavetrac LSD. If you are retaining the factory LSD, you will need to grind approximately 0.5mm off the shoulder of the top hat of the LSD so that you can gain a range of adjustment – please contact us for further information.
